Isabella is a romantic three-act opera in Italian that tells the story of a world longing for change... struggling to overcome disease… and yearning for freedom and forgiveness. The story unfolds in a remote village ravaged by a mysterious illness. A despotic kingdom has taken root on a nearby hill ruled by the cruel and unseen Henry IV (HIV). Isabella is seduced by a handsome and mysterious stranger who draws her into this dark, perilous world.
Maestro János Ács—who conducted for The Three Tenors—offered the following unsolicited review of Isabella: “Isabella is a masterpiece! From its story to its orchestration and vocal writing, this opera will leave audiences inspired, deepened in their faith in humanity and themselves, and moved by the bravura of its creators.”
